What Is An Academic Agreement

Certain types of agreements must be verified by the audit and approval of the university administration. Other verification and authorization requirements are shown in Table 1. All ESU contracts/conventions must be approved by legal advisors under the Commonwealth Attorneys Act. Any membership agreement that has not been established with a pre-approved model must be subject to legal review before it can be implemented. An appropriate representative of the external unit, as well as the ESU provoist and the vice-president of academic affairs must sign the agreements. The CEECs offer a general cooperation agreement and, as a rule, determine the scope of possible cooperation activities between the parties, without promising them certain resources. An agreement should give rise to further agreements on the definition of detailed activities. Additional agreements under the agreement can be signed in addition to the agreement or as a separate agreement. Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) – a non-binding global agreement at the higher education level, which outlines a number of possible areas of future cooperation.

The agreement serves as a framework agreement for more detailed partial agreements, but can be self-sustaining. Queen`s no longer uses the agreement as a standard contractual document. An agreement is implemented when an operational agreement is not required, but the partner university needs a general agreement to access local government scholarship funds or when a formal signature is required at the senior administration level. NOTE: Students cannot participate in mobility programs as part of an agreement. 1. Ask the Coordinator of Academic Agreements at the Propsts Office to determine if there are already agreements with the proposed institution. Isela Orozco academicagreements@utep.edu (915) 747-5725 2. Discuss the initiative with your Academic Agreement Advocate, who is involved in your area, to confirm their support for the initiative. Once all the scientific details of the exchange have been finalised, SMS will contact AVPI, whose staff will assist in the development of the agreement documents. You need PPPs and contact information for the contact you worked with at the proposed partner university. All agreements are prepared and negotiated in English. If the partner requires the translation of the agreement, it is the responsibility of the partner institution to prepare the translation and the responsibility of the faculty member/Faculty/Faculty to identify a person at Queen who can verify the accuracy of the translation.

The person verifying the accuracy of the translation signs the translation review form and sends the completed form to the AVPI at the end of the final verification and approval process. Where possible, the Queen`s draft agreement is used to negotiate the draft treaty. The Faculty/AVPI member may consult with the faculty and other campus units to develop a draft contract. If the faculty member develops the draft contract as soon as it is considered final and the authorizations are guaranteed at the faculty level as well as the authorizations of partners, the draft contract is forwarded to the AVPI for final review and approval. Written authorization at all levels (department, dean, etc.) is required and authorizations are registered by the Faculty International Office (FIO).
